1. Service Description
Socrates is an AI-powered oral defense platform for education. Teachers create assignments and generate unique student links. Students submit their essays and complete a short voice conversation with an AI interviewer that assesses depth of understanding. The AI produces a scored evaluation report for teacher review.
2. Eligibility and Access
Teacher accounts are created by school administrators. Students access the platform through unique, time-limited links generated by their teacher — no student account or login is required. Defense links expire 30 days after creation.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Socrates only for legitimate educational purposes. You may not attempt to manipulate, reverse-engineer, or abuse the AI evaluation system. Teachers are responsible for distributing student links only to intended recipients.
4. Intellectual Property
Students retain full ownership of their essays and oral defense responses. Socrates does not claim any rights to student-submitted content. AI-generated evaluation reports are provided as a tool for teacher review and are not intended as final grades.
5. AI-Generated Content
Evaluation scores and feedback are generated by AI and should be reviewed by a qualified teacher before being used for grading decisions. AI evaluations are advisory, not authoritative. Socrates is designed to support, not replace, teacher judgment.

7. Limitation of Liability
Socrates is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of AI-generated evaluations, service interruptions, or data loss. The platform is an educational tool and does not guarantee any specific academic outcomes.
8. Modifications
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated through the platform.
